Lukoil Cup 2019: brings together again
Lukoil Cup returns to the calendar of competitions for the young European football players.
The popular tournament has changed the strategy and age of the participants. The new draw will bring together players under 11.
Competitions will be held in two stages. By tradition, young Russians will compete for a large-scale qualifying tournament, which would be be held in Moscow in August. It will be attended by 20 team clubs representing RPL, FNL and PFL, from 17 regions of the country of Russia.
The winner will receive the right to represent Russia at the international final in Bulgaria.
The city of Plovdiv, named by the European Commission as the European Capital of Culture 2019, has been chosen as the venue for the decisive stage. Lukoil Cup 2019 will be part of the city’s program of celebrations and cultural events, which may include tens of thousands of tourists from different countries.
The finals will be held from 4 to 8 September and the opening ceremony will take place in the Roman Amphitheater of Plovdiv, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to the hosts and the best Russian team, its participants will be Barcelona, FC Internazionale, Anderlecht, Crvena Zvezda, Steaua and Besiktas.
