Lukoil Cup 2016 was officially presented in Moscow at "Otkritie Arena"
On Tuesday, 17 May, at "Otkritie Arena" in Moscow the fourth Lukoil Cup - a joint project of "LUKOIL" oil company, FC "Spartak Moscow" and Football Against Racism in Europe (FARE) Network - was officially presented.
Assistant of Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov, President of FC "Spartak Moscow" , Vice-President of "LUKOIL" oil company Evgeniy Havkin, General Manager of FC "Spartak Moscow" Sergey Rodionov, FC "Spartak Moscow" Vice-President Nail' Izmaylov took part in the official event dedicated to the start of Lukoil Cup 2016. Chief Advisor on Humanitarian Cooperation and Human Rights of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrey Volkov, Embassy's of the Republic of Bulgaria First Secretary Ivan Gradev, Embassy's of the Republic of Paraguay First Secretary Francisco Roberti and students of international schools visited the event as special guests.
FC "Spartak Moscow" players - Quincy Promes, Salvatore Bocchetti, Ivelin Popov and Lorenzo Melgarejo - also took part in the presentation as new Ambassadors of the Lukoil Cup project.
"I would like, first of all, to welcome the participants, guests and organizers of this very important tournament, which is held since 2013 and has become as a traditional tournament - I want to thank "LUKOIL" for the initiative" - said Pavel Kolobkov - "Indeed, the tournament will be held this year for the fourth time. In previous years, winners of Lukoil Cup became teams from different countries. It became largely due to our russian hospitality. This year I want to wish good luck to Academy of "Spartak". Racism is acceptable neither on the football field and nor life! And, of course, support from FARE is very important for us - it keeps track of the absence of discrimination in stadiums. I wish the young athletes to grow into great professionals and to join main teams in future".
"It is honor to us to host the Lukoil Cup, especially, with the "Play Against Racism" slogan" - said Leonid Fedun. "In anticipation of the FIFA World Cup 2018 it is very important to us to show hospitality, which is traditional for russians. You know that our team has always paid big attention to the fight against racism. Quincy Promes is sitting here - he is a good guy, who is respected by our fans! All we have to respect each other, be friends, despite the color of the skin."
